"They are felt with the heart..." (literally, we only see right with the heart)
One friend indirectly gave me this idea yesterday. After publishing on my Facebook page an article about my snake, she quoted the Little Prince, "I am more powerful than the finger of a king". Those who know me know that I worship the book and its author (not only because he was also born on june 29th :)). I've already pay tribute to Night Flight, the one to the Little Prince was missing, oftenly wrongly taken as just a children's story.
Indeed, how do you explain this splendorous quote to a child: "The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart"? There are so many profound reflections about mankind, love, sharing... expressed with simple words and, to me, it's a harrowing and sad testimony. Saint-Exupéry's pen moves me, scratches me, makes me wonder, pushes me and sends me into raptures. A blond little boy, painted so well by the author, this little prince, teaches the aviator, the grown-up, the lesson about humanity. It's about the boy's indestructible love for his rose, said to represent Consuelo, the wife. In few words, it's a beautiful book, moreover illustrated. So read it (again)!
I used the cut fox drawn by the author, quite different from mine. My Antoine (yes, we have a special relationship) also wrote "All grown-ups were once children... but only few of them remember it." So true!
